Lucy
Lucy came from a hoarding case in northern Ohio. There were 24 dog, all kept in horrid conditions. She was kept in a mud pen and bred over and over. She had sores all over her body from being left in mud and from mange. She spent two weeks isolated in a room due to her mange. When she was ready to get out of that room the most wonderful thing happened to Lucy. She found a home with two other Jack Russell mixes.
Here is a note from Lucy's new mom
All is well with Ms. Lucy. She definitely has a forever home. She and the other two little ones are becoming best friends. She likes to ride in the car and go to work with me. I have switched her to a completely homemade dog food, ground turkey, beef liver or chicken liver, all with a little brown rice. I am hoping a very high meat diet will help with her recovery from the neglect from her past. She has not been in the crate at all for over a week now. She likes cuddling with the kids at night, and is completely housebroken, she has never had an accident. She seems to be completely adjusted to her new surroundings and is beginning to play more each day. We are very happy to have her as a new addition to the family. However, she is getting a little spoiled!!! We think she deserves it, the entire family is amazed with her sweet nature. Thank you so much for letting her come this way.
Update from Lucy's Mom 10-14-2009
It’s been a while since I’ve touched base, so I will bring you up to date. She is at this moment sitting in the living room floor with the other dogs waiting for a peanut butter cracker. She is the easiest dog in the house. She has told me that she is very happy here!! HA HA She has a very healthy appetite, she is doing very well with the homemade dog food, my seven year old and I made them peanut butter doggie biscuits. I had to make them in dog bone shapes to make sure the humans in the house did not think they were for them.
I don’t think you would recognize her. She has all of her hair back except for a very small spot on her tail. Her feet and back to normal. I did not think the pads of her paws would ever get better, they are no longer discolored and flat, they are looking like regular old dog paws. No more itchy hot spots. She appears to be in very good health, she is so incredibly loving and affectionate, she is so good around kids. She is very protective of her home, the only thing that seems to bother her is if someone raises their voice to loud, it seems like she may have been around an abusive person.
We love having her, she is a wonderful little girl. I will send pictures soon.
